Hey Praise Chapel Family!
We hope you’re having an amazing week. In November’s update, we’ll dive into what’s coming up in December and early next year! We hope you’re excited because we’ve got some great things on the horizon!
Pancake Breakfast - Join us for fellowship this Sunday, November 19th at 10:00 am. We’ll enjoy freshly cooked pancakes and sausage, followed by worship and a short message in the sanctuary. Although no baptisms are scheduled for this week, we’ll still be celebrating God’s amazing goodness. This free event is open to all - no need to bring anything, just come and have a wonderful time!
Live Stream Updates - Last week, we updated our internet connection to a much faster speed. Spectrum also recently updated our router and modem. We’ll be adding a device with more storage for recording this week, and all of these fixes should resolve the delays we’ve been having with our service live stream. We expect this to be fully resolved by early December. Thanks for your patience!
Advent - Starting on Sunday, November 26, we’ll kick off the cherished season of Advent. If you’re new to Praise Chapel, Advent is a time of reflection on Jesus’s birth and the true meaning of Christmas. Over the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas, we’ll delve into the Gospel of Luke, focusing on the scriptures that recount the birth of Jesus.
December Outreach - On Friday, December 8th, we’re trying something new—a special outreach event in downtown DeLand. As a church that loves our city, we’re excited to share this experience with you. JC has been diligently gathering toys for children. We’ll start at the church at 3:00 pm to prepare "invite packages" with an invitation to our Christmas Eve services and some treats. Then, we’ll take our mission to the streets, offering these packages and a treasure box of gifts to children we meet.
Christmas Party - Mark your calendars for our annual Christmas party on Saturday, December 9th, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, right here at our church. We’re planning a bonfire, s'mores, and an evening filled with Christmas music and cheer. The church will provide meats, drinks, and desserts. We invite you to bring your favorite side dish to share. Bring a friend and join in the festivities!
Annual Vision Night - On February 4th, 2024, we gather for our Annual Vision Night, an event for everyone committed to Praise Chapel. It’s a night to reflect on God’s work over the past year and to look ahead at what’s to come. We’ve been praying and planning a lot, and we’re eager to try some “unconventional” new ideas that we think you’ll find exciting.
Ministry & Prayer Facebook Group - We’ve created a Facebook Group exclusively for our members and regular attendees. It’s a place to share prayer requests and find opportunities to serve others in our community, like providing meals for those in need. You can request to join the group here.
Bible Reading Plan - It has been a joy to journey through the New Testament together in 2023. In December, we’ll read the Gospel of Luke, reflecting on the significance of Jesus’ birth. Come 2024, we’ll dive even deeper into the scriptures with our new reading plan, which we’ll unveil at our Annual Vision Night.
