Hey Praise Chapel Family!
We pray you’re having an amazing week. In this update, we’ll share more about the war in Israel and what we believe our response should be as Christians. We’ll also provide a few updates about what’s coming over the next couple of months. We love you and look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Prayer & Support for Bonnie Shafer - Bonnie will be continuing to have chemo in the coming weeks. Please continue to pray for this family. We will also be adding some dates for her Meal Train soon. Guest Speaker - Greg Cole - Praise Chapel is excited to welcome Rev. Greg Cole on October 29th. Greg preached at Praise Chapel about 15 years ago when he first moved to Florida. His claim to fame is that he pastored another “Praise Chapel” church in California before following God’s guidance to move to Florida. This is going to be a special day, so we encourage you to come out and support our friend Greg!
Upcoming Events - Our next Pancake Breakfast and Baptism service will be on November 19th. Our Chapel Connection class will be held on Sunday, November 12th, right after church. The class will last for about an hour. If you're interested in getting baptized or if you'd like to learn more about getting connected at our church, you should attend the connection class.
Women’s Fellowship - Our brave women are headed to Wise Axe and Ice Cream on October 28th. The cost is $20 for the event. You’re also welcome to come and hang out, even if you’re not interested in learning how to throw an Axe. Ministry & Prayer Facebook Group - We wanted to remind you that we've created a new Facebook Group exclusively for members and regular attendees of our church. In this group, you can quickly and easily share prayer requests. Additionally, you’ll be able to help minister to others as our church shares opportunities to provide meals for those in need. You can request to join the group here.
Bible Reading Plan - What a joy it has been to go through the New Testament in 2023. In November, we’ll be finishing up and will be reading Revelation. In December, we’ll go through Luke and what Jesus’ birth means for Christians. In 2024, we plan to continue digging deeper into the scriptures and will release our newest reading plan in January.
The War in Israel - Lastly, we’ve had a lot of questions and comments about the war in Israel over the last couple of weeks. What perfect timing it is as we’ll be digging into the book of Revelation in November. As we wait to start this study, I want to remind our church that we are closer to Christ’s return than ever before. With that said, we need to be wise and patient. There have been predictions of when Jesus would come back for 2000 years. The truth is, nobody knows when Jesus will return. It could be soon, or not for another hundred years. Remember, it isn’t our job to know when he’s coming. It’s our job to pursue Jesus with our whole hearts. It’s our job to love others and reflect God’s goodness. I also want to encourage you to pray for all of those impacted by this terrible war. Pray that both sides would come to know Jesus as their savior and lord.
